If you were wondering where on Earth I have been since Thursday of last week, worry no more!  I am back!  First my computer flipped out and had to be fixed, then we went to the Jersey shore to visit with friends.  It was wonderful! (the shore that it is, not having a computer again, was not so wonderful)  I will share more later.  I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend and got in lots of family time!

I leave you with a question...Do I buy photoshop Elements 8 of Photoshot CS5??  Do I really need CS5?  What do you use and do you like it?  Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I'm not exactly sure of all the differences because I've never owned Elements, but I've head that Elements doesn't have mask layers which I couldn't live without! I might be wrong about that.

Sounds like my life. Trips, family, computer issues...

I hear CS5 is amazing! But I think the elements 8 is sufficient. I use an ancient version and love it and am still learning new tricks. There's my 2 cents for what it's worth.

I still don't know what elements can do. :) I usually use lightroom for all my edits, but PSE seems to sharpen alot better . I think PS CS5 is definitely a professional level editing program and will offer alot more then elements. I, personally, can't see myself upgrading yet until I can figure out PSE. Sorry, I'm not much help...Good luck!

I am a graphic designer turned SAHM, and I thought it would KILL me to switch to PSE, since I know a lot of tricks with the more sophisticated versions. Nope, I lived. :) But i still would love to get CS5 eventually.

for non-prefessional work, I can't justify the extra $, but that's just me.
