Sun bathing

The other day it was over 80 degrees outside.  That is very rare for this time of year.  We spent as much time outside as possible soaking up as much sun as possible.

Felicity had just woken up from her nap and could hear Wes playing outside.  She immediately started to shrieking and reaching to go outside.  I brought her right out, in her diaper.  I was not sure what she would do, nearly naked in the grass, for the first time.

Apparently she did not like the feeling of the grass because she crawled on all fours.  It looked so silly.

She took up at full speed for the big puddle in the back yard.

Stopping only once to...well change into her birthday suit.  I guess being nearly naked was not good enough for her.

As soon as she removed her diaper she stood up, clapped her hands, and said "Yea", while flashing her best gag toothed smile!  She is too funny.
Every chance she gets, she strips herself.  The girl loves to be naked.

One day we will have to teach her to keep her clothes on but for now, it's pretty cute.
Who am I kidding...Wes still strips outside while playing.  Good thing we live in the country.  Seriously though we are really trying to teach Wes modesty, it's just not working.

She did make it to the puddle and was very disappointed to find that the mud was still quite cold.   I did not let her stay naked in the muddle puddle any longer than it took to snap a couple photos.  Despite the chilly water, she was going to crawl right through it!  She is just like her big brother!   I just love my sun babies, naked or not.

Christmas Card Attempt

Ugh...Waaa...Moan....Groan...Grrr.....

Ok I think you get it. I am bummed. Try as I may I was unable to get both kids to look at me together. :( Wes did great and smiled big, looked cute, loved his sister, and basically did whatever I said. Felicity on the other hand was much too busy eating grass, trying to suck on Wes' muddy boot, and basically looking everywhere BUT at the camera. O well I did get a couple super cute shots just not what I really wanted.

I think I am in love with this old barn siding. I just think it looks really neat as a background. What do you think?

I won't mention that Wes let go and with a half twist his little sister ate a mouthful of grass as she tumbled down the hill we were standing on. And in my attempt to keep everyone happy and picture worthy I did not just swoop up the tumbling baby clap my hands and say "Yea! That was fun!" And then reposition them, this time sitting, and continue to shoot away. :)

What a serious little cutie!

These last two are my favorites!

Anyone else having trouble getting the "perfect" Christmas card photo? Any tips??

Park Play

Kirstie, her friend Marie and I took the kids to a local state park the other day. We are trying to take advantage of this unseasonably warm weather. It is so nice to be able to take the kids out without heavy coats, mittens, and boots. Felicity was very solemn the whole time, still not sure what that was about.
Wesley on the other hand was ECSTATIC!!! He ran from one slide to another, up climbing walls, across bridges, around the baseball field, and this thing.
All my attempts to make Lissy smile failed miserably.
When all the wonderful playground toys started to bore Wes he found a culvert and before I even had a chance to make sure it was ok, he was through it! Then for the next 5 minutes he crawled back and forth.
We all had a great time. What's your favorite thing to do with your kids outside?

Two Year old Love

Another beautiful fall day spent running around the backyard and playing on the teeter totter Matt made for Wes.Wes' friend Claire came over to spend some time with Wes. The tetter totter was a huge hit and after about 5 minutes I was finally able to show the kids how to do it on their own. It is not easy trying to tell two two year olds how to push their feet off the ground without them kicking! All was peacefull, beautiful, and happy...Until...Wesley decided to try to play tag with ClaireAnd pushed just a little too hard
It appears that she does not like to be pushed. Notice the pointer finger poised to lecture the unruly Wesley. So they tried ring-a-rong-the-rosie

that went well until...

"They all fall down" just one too many times and the finger came out again :)

Wes decided to just run and that made both of them very happy!

And they lived happily ever after or at least until lunch when they both wanted to sit in the same chair. :P
